Brian Hough is a partner in the firm. His practice focuses on criminal defense, including drunk driving (OWI), battery, disorderly conduct and more. Mr. Hough also defends various clients in the areas of commercial litigation and constitutional litigation. Throughout his career, Mr. Hough has litigated in many areas of civil litigation.
Mr. Hough has won dozens of jury trials. Mr. Hough has argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Hough was also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2008.
Significant Representations:
- Obtained a "not guilty" verdict for a defendant who admitted that he drove drunk at over three times the legal limit and struck a pedestrian at a speed of 65 m.p.h.
- Obtained a “not guilty” verdict on behalf of a law enforcement officer accused of drunk driving at twice the legal limit
- Obtained a “not guilty” verdict on behalf of an individual accused of driving drunk at twice the legal limit who was found sleeping behind the wheel with vomit on his shirt and a beer on the console
- Won a case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court which established the judicial protocol in a criminal case where a juror dissents at polling
- Obtained a dismissal of a multi-million dollar lawsuit which alleged a global equipment supplier wrongfully terminated one if its dealers
- Successfully defended numerous businesses accused of discrimination in employment
- Successfully defended numerous police agencies and school districts accused of violating constitutional rights
