By Women For Women held its seventh annual golf outing to benefit the Madison Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the Breast Cancer Recovery on Thursday, June 16, 2011. The event kicked off at the Legend of Bergamont golf course in Oregon, WI at 10:00 a.m. with a free golf clinic followed by lunch and registration at 11:00 a.m.
The 2011 By Women For Women golf outing raised $50,000 and sold out for the seventh consecutive year with 144 women golfers, 20 volunteers, and cash and prize donations from over 200 local businesses. Other highlights from the 2011 outing included the fun games and prizes encountered throughout the eighteen holes of golf, the silent auction, delicious food, and the presentation of $25,000 to the Madison Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and $25,000 to Breast Cancer Recovery.
By Women For Women has organized and hosted this annual women's golf outing for the last six years to benefit the Madison Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For the Cure®, raising a total of $250,000 throughout the history of the event. These funds support innovative breast cancer research grants and meritorious awards, and educational, scientific and community outreach programs in the Madison area. By Women For Women is also excited to announce a new recipient charity for this year's event, the Breast Cancer Recovery. This organization provides low cost and free retreats that offer an environment for breast cancer survivors to heal emotionally.
