Green Building
One of the most significant new developments in construction is green buildings, including certification from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). In addition to design and construction challenges to meeting green building standards, significant legal implications to green construction exist.
Who will be ultimately responsible for obtaining LEED certification? What happens if a building does not achieve the desired level of LEED certification? What happens if a building does not perform at the desired performance standards?
Axley Brynelson’s construction law attorneys, located in Madison, Wisconsin, are well-versed in environmental and green-related issues that affect project design and construction. Axley's lawyers have negotiated LEED certification provisions in a variety of projects, ranging from residential to multi-million dollar commercial construction. Our attorneys can offer guidance to owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, design/builders, contractors and lenders in all aspects of the green building process, including the sale or development of green buildings.
As green building becomes more common place, disputes surely will arise. Axley’s construction law attorneys help minimize these risks and effectively address them when they arise.
