The Western District of Wisconsin Federal Bar Association installed Axley Brynelson Attorney Andrew. J. Clarkowski as its President Friday, May 21, 2010. Clarkowski previously served on the Board of Governors before he was elected Vice President/President-Elect in 2009.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court recently decided that the phrase “hit and run” does not require fleeing. Because “hit-and-run” is ambiguous, an insured is entitled to uninsured motorist (UM) coverage, even if the driver stops to inquire before leaving.
Axley Brynelson Attorney Timothy M. Barber authored the amicus brief, arguing that the phrase “hit-and-run” vehicle includes an unidentified vehicle that strikes an insured, whose operator is unknown, and who flees the scene of an accident without providing identifying information.

In a breakthrough condemnation case, Attorneys Steven M. Streck, Sara K. Beachy and Timothy M. Barber won an appeal based on exclusion of evidence from the original trial, reversing a $150,000 judgment for their client.
