Axley Attorney Buck Sweeney Named 2015 Leader in the Law(Madison, Wis.) – The Wisconsin Law Journal named Axley Attorney Buck Sweeney a 2015 Leader in the Law, an award noting his exceptional leadership abilities, knack for legal marketing, career achievements, and involvement in the communities he serves.

Sweeney ranks among a select group of individuals throughout the state whose excellence in the legal profession – combined with pro bono work and similar initiatives – has earned them recognition in the 13th annual installment of this award.

Patricia Gibeault, Axley’s Managing Partner, says she praises Sweeney for his unparalleled aptitude for relationship-building.

“Buck is consistently going the extra mile to exceed expectations,” said Gibeault. “He is unique in our field. His remarkable connection to clients, colleagues and Wisconsin communities redefines what it takes to be a great attorney.”

Serving as co-chair of the firm’s Construction and Transportation Practice Group, Sweeney focuses his practice primarily on a variety of construction and environmental matters. Sweeney also plays an integral role in Wisconsin’s growing frac sand industry, representing companies in acquisitions, permitting, WDNR issues and dispute resolutions – and regularly delivering presentations on the industry to associations statewide.

A distinguished professional, Sweeney has been acknowledged by publications including The Best Lawyers in America, Wisconsin Super Lawyers and Madison Magazine. He holds an AV Preeminent® peer-review rating by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings.

The Wisconsin Law Journal will host a ceremony to honor Sweeney and the other award recipients on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. To register for this event, click here. Registration will close one week before the event.
