Madison, Wis. –  After serving as an Assistant Attorney General at the Wisconsin Department of Justice (“DOJ”) for the past four years, Attorney Sara K. Beachy is rejoining Axley as a partner and member of the Litigation and Construction & Transportation Focus groups.

Ms. Beachy concentrates her practice in the areas of eminent domain/condemnation, municipal law, and commercial litigation. She is also experienced in constitutional, environmental and open records law.

“We are glad to welcome Attorney Beachy back to our Madison office,” said Managing Partner Patricia Gibeault. “Not only is she one of the very few female attorneys practicing eminent domain law in the state of Wisconsin, she also brings knowledge and expertise from the DOJ that makes her an invaluable addition to our team.”

While working with the DOJ, Ms. Beachy represented state agencies in eminent domain, transportation, and land use litigation. Her case load included valuation litigation, inverse condemnation actions, billboards, relocation claims, NEPA/APA environmental reviews, writs of assistance and administrative law.

Before her work at the DOJ, Ms. Beachy was an associate at Axley, where she received recognition as an Up and Coming Lawyer by the Wisconsin Law Journal and was named as a Rising Star in eminent domain by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Ms. Beachy graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she co-taught a course on the First Amendment, earned multiple academic achievement awards and coached mock-trial.
