By Women For Women's sixth annual golf outing for the Madison Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® is scheduled for Thursday, June 17, 2010. For golfer, sponsorship and donation information, please visit By Women For Women's website.
Last year, By Women For Women's golf outing raised $35,000 and sold out for the fifth consecutive year with 144 women golfers, 20 volunteers, and cash or prize donations from over 200 local businesses.
After a free golf clinic and quick lunch, the golfers gathered in front of Bergamont’s club house at 11:30 a.m. In over 70 golf carts, the golfers rolled away to the greens, cart by cart, to the music of a local bagpiper for eighteen holes of golf, with several treats, games, prizes and unexpectedly good weather along the way.
They gathered in the club house after golf for a silent auction, champagne toast and presentation at $35,000 to the Madison Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®’s Executive Director, Michelle Heitzinger, and President, Ellen Richter, followed by dinner and a delicious designer cake.
By Women For Women has organized and hosted an women's golf outing for the last five years to benefit the Madison Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For the Cure®, raising a total of $180,000. These funds are used to support innovative breast cancer research grants and meritorious awards, and to fund educational, scientific and community outreach programs in the Madison area.
