Steven Streck is a partner of the firm, and member of the Litigation Practice Group and Construction and Transportation Focus Group.
Mr. Streck has a broad general litigation background, but now focuses primarily in the areas of commercial and business litigation, condemnation litigation, utility facility permitting, and environmental, construction and professional liability defense. He also represents and advises clients on insurance coverage matters. A substantial portion of his practice is in federal court, where he represents clients in Wisconsin Fair Dealership claims, commercial disputes and as local counsel in intellectual property litigation. Mr. Streck has also given presentations and authored numerous publications on various aspects of litigation, insurance coverage and environmental law.
Significant Representations:
- Regularly represents a regional electric transmission utility in ongoing condemnation litigation
- Defended $30 million arbitration and federal court action against utility for breach of contract and employment claims involving sale and operation of commercial natural gas retailer
- Represented multinational insurance company in multimillion dollar environmental insurance coverage claims, including soil and groundwater-contaminated manufacturing sites throughout Wisconsin
- Represented state of Wisconsin and several governmental subdivisions in multimillion dollar claims in condemnation valuation litigation
- Represented agricultural chemical dealer in toxic tort litigation where plaintiffs claimed significant personal injuries and property damage caused by the release of chemicals into residential water supply system
- Defended general contractor of an ethanol plant in multi-million dollar suit claiming defective design and construction.
- Represented North American Distributor of aircraft engines and equipment in an aviation accident resulting in significant personal injuries
- Provided state-wide environmental coverage counsel for insurance companies defending bodily injury and property damage claims
- Defended national retailers in federal court action alleging violations of Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law for wrongful termination of distribution agreement
- Represented numerous parties in EPA Superfund actions alleging liability for clean-up of groundwater contamination caused by waste disposal at landfills throughout the state of Wisconsin
