Attorney Amy Harriman is an associate at Axley and a member of the firm’s Business Practice Group. Ms. Harriman assists both public and private companies with a variety of business and transactional matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, real estate, construction, employment, and government relations.
Ms. Harriman comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Her family owns and operates a general contracting company, a food and beverage service company, and a residential real estate business. Amy grew up working for and supporting these businesses. These experiences fostered her passion for helping business owners understand and navigate the law, and setting them up for success.
During her time at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Ms. Harriman worked at the Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic where she provided transactional legal services to small businesses and start-ups. Amy also competed in the LawMeets Mergers and Acquisitions Transactional Moot Court competition where her team ranked third nationally. She also served as the Senior Note & Comment Editor (Vice-Editor in Chief) to the Wisconsin International Law Journal, Administrator for the Veterans Law Clinic, and the President of the Women’s Law Student Association.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Harriman spent seven years working in Wisconsin politics; first in the Wisconsin Legislature, and then as a Lobbyist. Amy advocated on state finance, construction, transportation, labor, and education issues. During that time, she worked for private businesses, trade associations, and coalitions. Amy uses this experience in her legal practice to help businesses navigate complicated regulatory schemes and impact statues.
In her spare time, Attorney Harriman enjoys spending time fly-fishing, snowboarding, and golfing.
