Kevin Trost is a partner in the firm and a member of the Business and Litigation Practice Groups. He represents financial institutions, businesses, and insurers throughout the state and federal court systems. He frequently addresses legal issues in the areas of civil litigation and creditor’s rights, including the defense of claims under the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and Wisconsin Consumer Act. He also negotiates multi-party contracts on behalf of financial services firms and biotechnology companies.
Mr. Trost also has significant experience in disputes involving residential real estate. He frequently addresses claims that owners of residential real estate failed to disclose defects during the sale of a home. In this context, he repeatedly represents and advises homeowners, contractors, and insurers regarding issues such as water damage, toxic substances, and vermin infestations.
He frequently represents insurers in first and third party litigation matters, and has significant experience addressing products liability, contract and toxic tort issues. Mr. Trost also advises and represents insurers on first party property coverage matters involving fraud and arson. He has served as first chair trial counsel and tried cases lasting from a single day to multiple weeks.
Admitted to practice in the State Courts of Wisconsin, Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
