Attorneys Buck Sweeney and Greg Collins

After three years of service to the firm, former Managing Partner Buck Sweeney transitioned the role to Attorney Greg Collins as of January 1, 2020. The firm’s partnership unanimously voted Attorney Collins into the role during their annual meeting.

Attorney Sweeney, the firm’s sixth managing partner, is now returning to his robust construction practice. “I have greatly enjoyed my role as managing partner, but after three years, it is time to refocus on practicing law,” said Sweeney. “I have worked with Greg for several years, and have every confidence he will be a fair and successful managing partner for the firm.”

Attorney Collins is a 29-year veteran of the firm, who practices in the areas of real estate, business, non-profit and tax exempt organizations, and elder law. He is now the firm’s seventh managing partner. “It’s been an honor to serve with Attorney Sweeney on the firm’s management committee for several years. The firm has grown and prospered under his leadership,” said Collins. “We have exceptional attorneys and staff, and I look forward to working with everyone as the firm’s new Managing Partner in the year ahead.”

In addition, Axley’s partnership grew by three partners in 2020, including Erika Bierma, Jeremy Lange, and John G. Walsh. “All three of our new partners are hard-working, dedicated, and an asset to our clients,” said Collins. “We look forward to their continued success as they grow their practice at Axley.”
