Attorney Andrew Clarkowski is a partner at Axley practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property, information technology and appellate law. He also serves as Counselor to the firm.
Attorney Clarkowski’s practice is divided between trial work and representing clients in complex intellectual property/IT transactions. Areas of specialty in his trial work include estate and will/trust litigation (with multiple cases tried to verdict and through appeal, and cases involving estates ranging from under $1 million to over $100 million), IT/IP litigation (including obtaining and opposing intellectual property injunctions as well as infringement actions), and commercial contract disputes.
While attending law school, Attorney Clarkowski served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. He also served as law clerk to Chief Justice Roland Day of the Wisconsin Supreme Court during the Court’s 1995-1996 term. He was President during the 2010-2011 term for the Western District of Wisconsin Federal Bar Association.
Admitted to practice in the State Courts of Wisconsin, Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Along with Axley Attorney Guy DuBeau, obtained a jury verdict of $1 million+ in damages in plaintiff’s suit against chemical manufacturer following two-week trial in Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Obtained a $1 million+ settlement on behalf of injured plaintiff (Dayna Halbert v. American Family Mutual Insurance Company, Dane County Case No. 10-6779)
Lead counsel, including presenting oral argument, in a successful defense of appeal to Seventh Circuit of Appeals (Virnich v. Vorwald, Case No. 10-3271)
Obtained summary judgment dismissing $20 million+ claim against Wisconsin manufacturer in District of Kansas Federal Court; decision reported at IMC Chemicals, Inc. v. Niro, Inc. 95 F.Supp. 2d 1198 (D. Kan. 2000)
Lead or sole counsel on numerous jury trials, court trials and arbitrations. Also served as local counsel for numerous patent and commercial litigation cases in Wisconsin’s Western District Federal Court, including Chief Judge Conley’s first patent trial in 2010.
Along with Axley Attorney John Schmid, Jr., prevailed on LIRC and circuit court review of decision which ultimately resulted in largest applicant’s worker’s compensation settlement in Wisconsin
