Attorney Anne Cohen is a partner at Axley and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She focuses her practice on civil litigation, including insurance defense and coverage matters, commercial disputes, and personal injury claims. She also maintains an active appellate practice and represents both businesses and individuals.
Attorney Cohen is particularly known for her strength in legal research and persuasive writing. She enjoys analyzing complex legal issues and translating them into clear, concise arguments. At both the trial and appellate levels, she develops well-reasoned legal strategies grounded in thorough statutory research and careful analysis of case law.
Prior to joining Axley, Attorney Cohen practiced civil litigation at a respected Wisconsin law firm, where she represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout all stages of litigation. Her experience includes drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery, taking depositions, developing litigation strategy in complex matters, and taking matters through jury trial. She has also handled motion practice and appeals in Wisconsin state courts, federal district courts, and the Seventh Circuit.
Anne began her legal career as a Wisconsin State Public Defender, where she represented clients through all phases of the criminal process. In that role, she conducted legal research, investigated cases, and drafted and argued a wide range of motions, including bail/bond, suppression, and pretrial motions. She also gained extensive courtroom experience through jury trials and evidentiary hearings.
When not in the office, Attorney Cohen enjoys hiking, live music, and volunteering at her local food pantry.
