Attorney Michael Van Kleunen is an associate attorney at Axley practicing municipal law, real estate, and civil and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Axley, Attorney Van Kleunen worked for another local firm where he served as counsel to various municipalities in relation to zoning, land use and development matters, public finance, and eminent domain. He also drafted residential and commercial real estate contracts, negotiated business agreements, and defended and prosecuted actions involving contract disputes, real estate, collections, and foreclosures.
A graduate of Marquette University Law School, Attorney Van Kleunen was a member of the Marquette Law Review and authored an article regarding FMLA and ERISA in Volume 103. He also served as a student associate for the Marquette Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Attorney Van Kleunen is a graduate of Hanover College (IN), and was a member and captain of the men’s basketball team.
When he is not in the office, Attorney Van Kleunen enjoys boating and skiing, running, and watching sports.
