(Madison, Wis.) – The Wisconsin Law Journal named two Axley staff members as Unsung Heroes in its 2019 installment of the award. Axley Receptionist Gloria Lund and Waukesha Operations Manager and Human Resources Officer Sharon Manlick shared the recognition with 21 staff members at other firms throughout the state for their behind-the-scenes efforts and steadfast dedication to the legal profession.

Celebrating her 22nd work anniversary this December as the receptionist at Axley’s Madison office, Gloria Lund is the unofficial face of Axley. She is the first interaction many people have with our firm, whether it is via phone or in person at the front desk. Gloria’s positive demeanor not only impacts our clients, but also our employees whom she greets every morning. “Gloria often arrives to work before the sun is even up. Not even a polar vortex could keep her from the office,” said Adam Premo, Office Manager for Axley’s Madison office. “She is an incredibly dedicated and valued employee, and the amount of things she does to make our jobs easier is truly impressive. We are lucky to have her.”

Sharon Manlick is the Office Manager for Axley’s Waukesha office, and also works as one of the firm’s Human Resource Officers. It’s not uncommon for Sharon to have a hand in almost everything going on at Axley, regardless of office location. Not only does Sharon handle an immense workload with an organizational ease that makes many envious, she also has an innate ability to show people they are valued. “Sharon is not only a remarkable employee, but also a remarkable human being,” said Nancy Wilson, a partner at Axley’s Waukesha office. “She inspires us all to be better people – to be kind to one another, to help each other when we can, and to have the confidence we can tackle anything that comes our way. She encourages us, leads us, and keeps our firm moving forward.”

The Wisconsin Law Journal hosted an awards luncheon for the 2019 honorees on Thursday, December 5th at The Grain Exchange in Milwaukee. It will also publish a special edition of the magazine to showcase the honorees.
