Axley is honored to announce that the Wisconsin Law Journal named Attorney Sara Beachy to the 2019 Women in the Law list. Every year, the Wisconsin Law Journal recognizes a group of women that are not only successful attorneys but also open doors for fellow female attorneys and give back to their communities.
Attorney Beachy, from day one of her legal career, has taken challenges head-on. During her first year of law school, while pregnant with her second child, Xander, Attorney Beachy served as co-president of the Law School Family Association, a group designed to represent students with family and caregiving responsibilities. She went on to co-teach a course on the First Amendment, coach mock trial, and graduated cum laude. Unsurprisingly, Attorney Beachy’s penchant for raising her own bar has continued throughout her career.
Attorney Beachy is a prominent member of Axley’s condemnation and eminent domain team, and also practices commercial litigation, municipal law, and construction law. Attorney Beachy is also a former assistant attorney general for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, representing State agencies in eminent domain, transportation, and land use litigation. Over the course of her career, Attorney Beachy has become a fount of knowledge for fellow attorneys, a coveted mentor to young Axley associates, and a writer and presenter on eminent domain and condemnation for statewide organizations.
As demanding as the practice of law can be, Attorney Beachy balances her professional life with the responsibilities and goals in her personal life. Most notably, Attorney Beachy hiked the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal last year with her daughter, reaching an elevation of 17,500 feet.
Attorney Beachy and the other Women in the Law recipients will be recognized at a reception on June 20, 2019.
