Madison Wisconsin Family Law Attorney Kathryn Grigg(Madison, Wis.) – The Wisconsin Law Journal named Axley Attorney Kathryn Grigg as a 2014 Up and Coming Lawyer, recognizing her excellence in the legal profession, as well as her steadfast dedication to improving both her practice and the Greater Madison communities.

Grigg ranks among a select group of attorneys throughout the state who have practiced law for eight years or less, and whose leadership abilities have allowed them to achieve notable success within that time frame.

“It has been an absolute pleasure watching Attorney Grigg grow her practice and grow as a person,” said Attorney Art Kurtz, a partner at Axley and member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. “This award is a testament to her determination, strong work ethic and proactive mentality.”

Grigg focuses her practice primarily on family law, and handles matters concerning custodial property; post-divorce child support and maintenance modification; domestic and elder abuse injunctions; and complex maintenance buy-outs. She is an advocate of the collaborative divorce process and a member of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin.

Grigg was named to the 2013 Wisconsin Rising Stars List for her family law accomplishments by Wisconsin Super Lawyers and Rising Stars magazine, as well as the Super Lawyers Business Edition magazine – an honor no more than 2.5% of attorneys within the state receive.

Aside from family law, Grigg is a member of Axley’s Litigation Practice Group and has litigated cases in over a dozen Wisconsin counties. She lends her expertise in estate planning and probate; real estate, land use and zoning law; and condemnation and eminent domain law.

Maintaining strong community involvement, Grigg is a member of the Legal Association for Women, an organization that promotes creating opportunities for women to succeed in the legal field. She also served for three years as Legal Counsel on the Board of Directors of the Jaycees of Wisconsin, Inc., an organization honing leadership skills among young professionals and entrepreneurs through community service.

A ceremony commemorating Grigg and the other honorees will take place Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at The Garage at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. In addition, The Wisconsin Law Journal will issue a special publication showcasing the 2014 Up and Coming Lawyers.
