(Madison, Wis.) – Honoring his continuous public service efforts, the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) Committee named Attorney Paul Curtis the 2015 Hotline Attorney of the Year.
The LRIS Lawyer Hotline Program is an initiative through which attorneys volunteer their time to answering a wide range of legal inquiries from Wisconsin residents via telephone, helping callers determine the best methods of proceeding with their matters. Volunteers thoroughly explain legal intricacies in a comprehensible manner and recommend whether callers should pursue actual representation.
A Membership Recognition Celebration – acknowledging Curtis and other award-winning State Bar of Wisconsin members who have demonstrated a steadfast dedication to community outreach – took place during the State Bar Annual Meeting and Conference on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Grand Geneva Resort.
Curtis focuses his practice on insurance and personal injury defense, contract disputes, premises liability and commercial litigation. He represents businesses and individuals in both state and federal court, as well as employers and insurers in worker’s compensation claims before the Wisconsin Worker’s Compensation Division. Curtis recently delivered an oral argument before the Wisconsin Supreme Court in the case of Ronald J. Dakter v. Dale L. Cavallino, et al. The courtroom video may be viewed on Wisconsin Eye.
Earning acclaim within the legal profession, Curtis is listed in the “Who’s Who in American Law,” and is AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ – the highest ranking one can achieve through this extensive, nationally-recognized peer rating system.
