Axley is pleased to announce the addition of Attorney Elizabeth Stephens to the firm’s Madison Office. Attorney Stephens focuses her practice on general civil litigation, labor and employment matters, and municipal law.
Attorney Stephens is a cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. Prior to joining Axley, Attorney Stephens practiced for several years at another local Madison-area law firm as a government relations advisor, litigator, labor and employment attorney, and lobbyist. She has extensive experience working with state and local government entities, associations, officials, stakeholders, public and private employers, and businesses, having served as a lobbyist for a statewide municipal trade association and as a senior advisor to Wisconsin’s legislative leadership.
Attorney Stephens’ diverse legal experience and high-level connections in a variety of industry sectors makes her a strong asset to the firm. She is able to assist clients in all facets of litigation from strategy to settlement negotiations and trial, and can effectively represent employers in labor and employment representation in proceedings before state and federal agencies including EEOC, NLRB, DWD and LRIC. In addition, Attorney Stephens also advises employers on internal operating procedures and employment documents. Finally, Attorney Stephens’ municipal practice extends to overseeing general municipal operations and advising on complex regulatory matters.
When not in the office, Attorney Stephens is a hiker and equestrian.
