(Waukesha, Wis.) – The Wisconsin Law Journal recognized Axley Attorney Don Gallo as a 2019 Leader in the Law last week, an honor reserved for top attorneys and various legal professionals who have made a difference in Wisconsin’s legal community.
Nominated by his peers as a result of his unparalleled career as an environmental engineer and attorney, Gallo is also a pillar of the community and dedicates a significant amount of time to preserving our natural resources and parks.
He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful and President of the Tall Pines Conservancy .
Gallo’s legal practice includes assisting clients with a broad range of environmental issues including wetland and waterway permitting, air permitting, hazardous waste compliance, insurance remediation cost cap coverage, and transactional issues. Additionally, Gallo assists owners and developers with brownfield development projects including obtaining state and federal brownfield grands, zero-interest loan funding and often insurance coverage for environmental cleanup. Furthermore, his experience includes several hundred petroleum convenience stores, bulk plants and petroleum terminal cleanups; a total of 78 dry-cleaning solvent cleanups; and many industrial cleanups and expansions.
Gallo is also a professor, teaching Ethics for Engineers at a variety of Universities including the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. At the graduate level, Gallo teaches environmental law for engineers at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
