Benjamin Edelstein

Attorney Benjamin Edelstein is a senior associate at Axley and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. He represents businesses, insurers, school districts, municipalities, and individuals in complex civil litigation, including employment claims, contract disputes, municipal litigation, insurance defense, and other commercial matters. He works closely with clients to evaluate and manage risk, develop practical strategies, and pursue efficient resolutions in and out of the courtroom.

Before joining Axley, Attorney Edelstein practiced labor and employment law at a Madison law firm, representing clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. His work included drafting and arguing motions, managing all phases of discovery, taking and defending depositions, and negotiating settlements. Earlier in his career, he worked on a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters involving contract claims, shareholder disputes, product liability claims, construction litigation, and class actions. He has also served as a consultant to public- and private-sector clients on regulatory and compliance matters.

Attorney Edelstein earned his J.D., with honors, from Marquette University Law School. There, he won first place in the Jenkins Honors Intramural Moot Court Competition and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trusts & Estates. He also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. His work has been published in Wisconsin Lawyer, the Fordham Law Voting Rights and Democracy Forum, and State Politics & Policy Quarterly.

Outside of the office, Attorney Edelstein enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, cooking, reading, and exploring Madison on his bicycle.

Admitted to practice in the State Courts of Wisconsin and the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
