Axley welcomes Attorneys Kathryn Sawyer Gutenkunst and Michael Van Kleunen to our Waukesha office. Attorneys Gutenkunst and Van Kleunen both practice in the areas of business law and litigation.
Attorney Gutenkunst is a partner at Axley with 34 years of experience. Her practice includes civil and commercial litigation, family law, municipal law, land use and development, condemnation and eminent domain, and real estate law. She represents a wide array of clients from individuals and businesses to municipalities. Her litigation practice includes covenants not to compete, construction contracts, riparian rights, municipal issues, and will contests. She has a history of appearing before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Wisconsin Appellate Court, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Attorney Van Kleunen is an associate at Axley and practices in the areas of municipal law, real estate, and civil and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Axley, Attorney Van Kleunen worked for another local firm where he served as counsel to various municipalities in relation to zoning, land use and development matters, public finance, and eminent domain. He also drafted residential and commercial real estate contracts, negotiated business agreements, and defended and prosecuted actions involving contract disputes, real estate, collections, and foreclosures.
