Attorney Cecilia Heberling is an associate at Axley and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Attorney Heberling practices in the areas of insurance defense and civil litigation.
Attorney Heberling represents clients through all phases of litigation from discovery and depositions to trial. She uses her education and experience to advocate for clients’ best interests and is known for her positive rapport with clients, judges, and opposing parties.
Prior to joining Axley, Attorney Heberling worked at a Milwaukee-area firm where she prepared pleadings, discovery responses, briefs, motions, and settlement agreements. She frequently appeared at evidentiary hearings and gave oral arguments. She also presented at the 2020 National Association of Subrogation Professionals Annual Conference, and by request of the association gave the presentation as a subsequent webinar.
Before graduating cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law, she worked in the Federal Public Defenders office for the Western District where she conducted extensive legal research and analysis; interpreted laws, rulings, and regulations for specific case application; and consulted with attorneys on case law and court proceedings. In addition, she served as a clinician with the Chance at Childhood Legal Clinic, where she assisted at a legal self-help center, performed custody and guardianship home visits, and filed associated court documents.
When not in the office, Attorney Heberling enjoys equestrian sports, kickboxing, and traveling.
